Downtown Parking
This Thursday from 6-8pm at the Kansas Leadership, you have a chance to have your voice heard about downtown parking at the next public meeting.
Speaking of public parking, there are basically four options at this point.
Options A - D as they are named, have variations of
- Certain hours free (first hour of parking), excluding certain areas of town (like Old Town), Overall Cost, etc

Free Rides on Election Day
In honor of Election Day, on Tuesday, November 5, Wichita Transit will offer free bus rides on all traditional bus routes and paratransit service. Free rides are valid for everyone riding to or from polling locations as well as any other trip during the day.
Riders do not need to provide documentation of voting to receive a ride. Transit buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule with service hours that span the full voting hours of each polling location.

Wettest Day of the Year
On Saturday, Wichita received 3.12 inches of rain after receiving less than an inch all of October.
That makes it the wettest day of 2024 with the second wettest day being 1.32” of rain.
Operation Holiday
Operation Holiday (of HumanKind Ministries) helped over 15,000 people, including 9000 kids, last year.
From now until 11/30, they are taking applications as well as donations
The goal is to help low-income people by providing basic needs, food, blankets, children’s coats, pet food, and more.
