How much water do we need to fill Cheney Lake?

video preview

Cheney Lake (Wichita's main water source) dropped another 6 inches last month, bringing us ~8.49' below normal.

How much water is that?

According to the city: 25.9 BILLION gallons OR

  • 236 Century II buildings
  • 10,360 Olympic-sized Swimming Pools, or
  • 40 million kegs of beer, or
  • 36,000 school buses, or
  • 38 Great Pyramids of Giza, or
  • Every person in Wichita taking 3,800 showers

Keep conservin', y'all.

What’s with the chicken?

No, it’s not the Donut Whole chicken at 13th and Mosley (although we’re still waiting for answers about the fate of some of our favorite donuts).

The chicken belongs to a second Chicken Chicken location going to 13th and Mosley.

We need more of this investigative journalism from EB and Fert.

Mr. Mixer

Mr. Mixer himself Zach Dinicola has an awesome story.

He fixes up KitchenAid mixers out of Augusta and is up to 5 people total for the operation.

He wants to move away from throwaway society.

I’ve followed him for a while, but followed even more closely when he shared about his home in Andover being damaged by the tornado a couple of years ago.

Wichita Water Works

Wichita is currently building a new water plant. And then we will have two, but will not have enough employees in the area.

The City is now outsourcing five or six process control specialist jobs (highly technical) to be hired from outside Wichita to get it rolling.

Spooky Szn

If you missed our haunted rundown from Wednesday, here you go.

One update - I don’t believe the Spooky Bus Tour are in business any longer. Sorry about that!

At the 300 N Main building (The Baltimore / Occidently) there is supposedly a cowboy ghost that plays the banjolele at night and walks the hallways. Apparently back in the day this was a brothel. It may be the oldest building in downtown. Thanks for the insight Monica! Party Guide
