Shepherd’s Way, Tim Tebow, and Softball

Everyone deserves a chance to live a normal life.

Shepherd’s Way is a nonprofit org that helps empower individuals with intellectual disabilities with practical independent living skills and the ability to recognize and embrace their unique gifts and values.

If you’ve ever met Charles, Dallas, Jordan, or Matthew, you know exactly what this is all about and how it has been a life-changing program.

We will cover this more on Wednesday, but there is a two-day fundraiser event in a couple of weeks called ALL-BAL.

Proceeds go to benefit Shepherd’s Way!

Day One (Friday 8/16): Come hear from Tim Tebow at Crown Uptown! You can also grab tickets to come to a happy hour event at Chester’s and hang out with Tim Tebow and Local Legends (like myself and SB Mowing, for the record - I did not call myself this…)!

Day Two (Saturday 8/17): Go golfing at Flint Hills National or just show up for the All-Ball Softball game at 4 where you can watch local legends, friends, and Shepherd’s Way participants come play before the Wind Surge game at 6pm (this is included in your price)!

If you buy your Crown Uptown tickets to see Tim Tebow by Monday, August 5th, you’ll be entered to win a signed item from Tebow or 2 spots at Chester’s on Friday the 16th!

Just a heads up if you see anyone selling large quantities of Magic, One Piece, or Pokemon cards. Arena Hobbies was robbed of tens of thousands of dollars worth of collectibles.

Substitute Teachers

As a student, it was often exciting when we had a substitute teacher.

Since COVID, it has been increasingly difficult for schools to fill all the spots they need.

In-Person Enrollment

Wichita Public Schools has in-person enrollment today and tomorrow for those of you who may have missed the memo.

School starts 14th for most students, new students start August 13th.

Matilda from Music Theatre Wichita kicks off on Wednesday and runs through the weekend.

Check out the new mural that was revealed over the weekend!

The mural aims to commemorate the outstanding contributions of individuals in the basketball community. Highlighting their remarkable journeys, marked by numerous accomplishments and milestones, serves as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring youth athletes in the Wichita community.

Cricket Field

I will be the first one to admit, I have absolutely no idea how to play cricket out of what I’ve seen on Bluey (Rusty is the 🐐).

Wichita State built a cricket field for the WSU cricket club which has been a place where international students can feel at home.

Kansas State Fair

Do you ever go to the Kansas State Fair?
