See You Next Year - Kickstarter Success

I was browsing r/wichita a while back, as one does, and came across a post about a project making the front page of Kickstarter (a site where users can fund people with ideas that need funding).

This project was called “SEE YOU NEXT YEAR: The “Halloween-est” Story of All Time 🎃” with a description:

It has raised $16,840, exceeding the goal of $10,000.

I had to reach out to the person behind this, Jon Korte - a Wichita native, and learn more.

So here is a Q&A with Jon to learn more about the background of the project! And here you can support his project.​

TOGETHER WITH THE WICHITA HOLIDAY FAIR

Las Adelitas Cafe by Esperanza Coffee Roasters

​Las Adelitas is an incredible coffee shop and now they’re expanding in more than one way:

Celebrate the season with fun and festive activities throughout the Wichita Art Museum.

Meet and snap a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Santa’s elves and one of his reindeer will be here too!

What to expect:

10 AM – 12 PM: Visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and one of their reindeer.

10 AM – 1 PM: Holiday activities, Holiday performances including storytime with The Snow Flake Princess, Christmas songs with Kim Duggar Attwater, and dance performances with Tenacity Dance Company and Kansas Dance Academy, Artmaking inspired by Robert Peterson: Somewhere in America, Selfie station with Lamphouse Photo Booth Co.

Crown Uptown Update

We recently wrote about how the owner of Crown Uptown wanted to increase the capacity of the building or else. Well, the vote went to the City Council and…

they pushed it back to the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission with a unanimous vote. TBD on more details.

Wild Lights Winter Wonderland

If you’ve been on the fence about going to Wild Lights at the zoo, You can come by when it becomes a Winter Wonderland this weekend with live performances, Santa and more.

Santa’s Arrival

This Sunday from 1-3pm at Towne East Square, Santa is arriving in style!

There will be a live performance by the Nutcracker ballerinas, studio singers, Santa reading a holiday story, and more!

HALO Winter Festival

The Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO) is hosting a free event tomorrow (12/7) from noon to 4pm at Heights High School (5301 N Hillside St). Come celebrate Hispanic Culture with food, drinks and music!

12 Drinks of Christmas

​Exploration Place knows how to throw a party.

Toy Mountain

​Toy Mountain is Back! Help KAKE build a mountain of toys for families in need.

This toy drive benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities of Wichita.

You can participate by donating new, unopened toys to the KAKE Studios at 1500 N West St, Wichita, KS 67203 during regular business hours from Monday, December 2nd, 2024 through Friday, December 13th, 2024.
