C’mon ride the (zoo) train

The Safari Express is officially open at the Sedgwick County Zoo!

It is a 1.3 mile train ride around the outside of the zoo, so you can get never before seen views of our incredible zoo.

The train runs continuously 9am to 4pm and will require an extra ticket ($5 or $4 for members).

Fun fact: it’s completely electric so it’s very quiet, it will play the classic choo-choo sounds for you though!

This is Her

This is Her was an event hosted in March by Audra and The Thread that consisted of an evening of short films celebrating women creators.

Now, we (Wichita Life) are teaming up with Audra and her team at the Thread to throw the second ‘This is Her’ event. This time you’ll have a chance to mingle among prominent women and men in town while listening to various TED-talk style talks from many of these women.

COVID cases are increasing...again.

The Sedgwick County Health Department is now recommending residents return to wearing face masks indoors in public locations.

Riverfest Attendance

Riverfest turned 50 this year.

Over the 9 days of events, 330,000 people showed up to enjoy the festivities which means we are back to pre-pandemic levels.

Last week, the Wichita Animal Services Advisory Board voted to crack down on certain pet shops.
