Water Treatment
The new water treatment plant was supposed to open last week in Wichita, but that won’t happen until April.
Water Restrictions
While we’re talking about water, the City of Wichita will increase enforcement around the Stage 2 water restrictions.
When Stage 2 restrictions first went into affect, water usage dropped from 74 million gallons a day to 55 MGD and then crept back up to 64 MGD two weeks ago.
The Cheney Reservoir is sitting at less than 59% full and less than 67% of the 12-month average (which is what the Stage restricitons are based on.
