Homelessness in Wichita
According to a study in May 2024, 691 people identified as homeless in Wichita.
For 8 years, nonprofit Family Promise has been helping 2000+ kids who lack a permanent address. According to Family Promise, 2,025 children do not have permanent housing.
There is a documentary premiering at the Tallgrass Film Festival this weekend called Hope in the Heartland: Wichitaβs Quest to End Homelessness. It premiered yesterday, but there is an encore on Sunday at 11am.
