Did you know there is a (not so) super secret bowling alley at Wichita State?

Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes is now offering single lane reservations!

You can now reserve lanes for your friends or family, up to 5 days in advance. Just $40 per lane per hour. (don't even look up the competitors in town pricing...ok I did for you, $165 for 4 people with a two hour minimum).

You may have up to 8 people, however we recommend a max of 6 people per lane. Rental shoes are included!

Reservations can be made by phone (316-978-3479) and payment is due at the time of booking. Open to the public (and much cheaper than other options in town)!

Cheney Lake

How dry is Cheney Lake?

Low enough that debris is popping up that has previously been hidden under 8.6 additional feet of cover.

Examples include rocks from construction, picnic tables, and more.

What's next? A lipstick tube, yellow-spotted lizards, and a peachy nectar called sploosh?!

Tallgrass Film Festival

Just a friendly reminder that the largest Independent Film Festival in Kansas kicked off yesterday! Don’t miss a chance to hang out with some cinefiles.

Homelessness in Wichita

According to a study in May 2024, 691 people identified as homeless in Wichita.

For 8 years, nonprofit Family Promise has been helping 2000+ kids who lack a permanent address. According to Family Promise, 2,025 children do not have permanent housing.

There is a documentary premiering at the Tallgrass Film Festival this weekend called Hope in the Heartland: Wichita’s Quest to End Homelessness. It premiered yesterday, but there is an encore on Sunday at 11am.
