Fast forward to today, nearly 40,000 Wichitans follow us on Instagram and almost 18,000 of you beautiful readers receive these emails multiple times a week! In honor of that, let's party! Hutton Development Youβve likely seen the Hutton logo around town. Theyβre a local construction company with their hand in a lot of projects. CIVIL Potholes How bad are the potholes in Wichita? We rank 5th in the nation when it comes to complaints about potholes, but are they actually that bad or have people just not been to Oklahoma to see what bad roads really look like? Last year, the City of Wichita spent almost $13 million to fix and maintain problems on the roads which is about double from a decade ago. If you see a pothole, let the city know. Amtrak Update Back in September 2022, the Amtrak Daily Long-Distance Service Study began. Currently we have a long-distance (over 750 miles) that goes through Newton. The study shows 6 potential routes that would go through Kansas if expansion were to happen. Train Delays While weβre talking trains, the other day I was enjoying a delicious pupusa and started to head back North and got stuck at some train tracks where the train just wasnβt moving. Apparently this is a common occurrence around Wichita and can last hours. βWhy is this the case? Do you ever get stuck behind these? For what seems like the 20th time this year, Evergy cut power to Towne West since Kohan Retail Investment Group hasnβt paid their bill.
